The Shawnee Mission Labrador Retriever Club (SMLRC) was founded in 1987 with a membership of 10 people from the Kansas City Metropolitan and surrounding areas. Since then, the club has grown to a total membership of over 50 from around the central midwest, and is now incorporated, and licensed by the AKC.
The SMLRC, Ltd. emphasizes maintaining the Labrador Retriever in all of its many talents, including Field, Conformation, Obedience, Tracking, Agility and most of all the Family Companion.
